The Department of Internal Medicine provides across-specialty care for patients with a wide spectrum of clinical conditions. Consultants in the department have had broad-based training in General Internal Medicine and in one or more subspecialties. The presence of clinicians with different subspecialty training in the department allows an integrated approach to patient care
We focus on
• Clinical care of patients with a wide spectrum of infections with varying complexity:
We are closely linked to our partners in various national centres . As such, we are par-ticularly noted for our expertise in the management of infectious diseases in oncologi-cal, haematological and transplant patients as well as in surgical patients who have un-dergone complex surgeries.
• Hospital epidemiology and infection prevention:
We are heavily involved in the prevention and management of infections with multi-drug resistant pathogens, especially in the immunocompromised host population.
